I get asked about partner codes constantly. Always the same thing: do you get discounted fees or free trading?
No. AvaTrade doesn't charge commission on forex. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code has no impact on spreads.
Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. That's all it does.
What's the bonus amount?
Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.
Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. Most people won't hit that.
British traders get £160 bonus on £800 deposits. Goes to £11,200 at the top.
You can open an account with $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.
Finding the partner code field
When you're signing up. Once you've filled in your phone number, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click the arrow. The field expands. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
If you see an error, it's fine. Complete your registration. Contact support before funding. Ask them to add code 128979. They do this manually all the time.
You can't withdraw the bonus straight away
You need to trade get more info a certain volume.
Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Happens faster than you'd think if you're active.
The deposit belongs to you. Withdraw it whenever you want. Only the bonus has the restriction.
One thing worth knowing: the bonus adds to your available margin even when locked. This lets you take bigger positions. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
